Today I journeyed out to Eagle River. It's a small city about 12 miles north of Anchorage, famous for... well, nothing actually, it is the last place to stop at Carrs or Fred Meyers for about 36 miles.
I'm certain that this was somekind of ceremony honoring the Veterans of the Vietnam War.
This was suppose to be a picture of 50 flags briskly waveing in the wind, representing all of the United States. Due to budget cuts, my digital camera doesn't have a wide angle lense that could caputure how impressive looking this actually was. One of those you had to have been there moments.
58,226 names. 58,226 sons, fathers, brothers, mothers, daughters, and sisters. This was very...Dark and Cold.
At 9 pm tonight (Wednesday), the Lions Club of Eagle River began reading the names of the soldiers that died in the Vietnam War, they will finish reading the names sometime Saturday night.
Apparently this monument travels around the U.S. throughout the year.

On a happier note.
It's Marlow's 30th Birthday (compleanno) this week!

Happy Birthday(compleanno) to you Marlow. We hope that you have a very special day. Posted by Picasa
