Shazame its Sunday...already!

Over the past few years I have become very...soft.  This has nothing to do with my physic (that has just always been that way).  No, what I am referring to is my tolerance for work.  Working as a chef, it was just part of the gig.  Long thankless hours are the norm and if you’re not putting in 70 hours a week, well how could you possible call yourself a chef.  Working for the Municipality of Anchorage over the past 3+ years has gotten me accustomed to working a 9/80 schedule.  Which means that I work 9 hours a day 5 days and then take the weekend off, come back the next week and work 9 hours a day for 4 days and then take 3 days off.  Throw in every holiday you can think of, it really is a wonder that anything ever gets done. I am certain that my cushy muni job is nowhere as demanding physically or mentally as my previous position with the Marriott, yet I find myself exhausted at the end the day, not to mention very much looking forward to and needing my weekends off.  Which brings us to today, Sunday.  I have had the last 3 days off, which seem to me more like the last 3 hours.  I feel guilty complaining, but I just do not feel like I get enough time off.  Enough of that...I'll just have to suck it up.  On to more interesting things.  Go see Clint Eastwood's "Grand Torino".  The world could us a few more surly-bigoted old men, and I'll leave it at that.  I wish that I had a better up date to give on the course of the New Years Resolution, but on the up side I am going to the gym more often, however, now I'm eating a lot more.  I have managed to cut way back on the Diet Coke consumption...maybe 5 this week.  I have yet to start reading anything.  I am better about leaving my dirty shoes in the garage, but can't say that I do this 100% of the time...maybe like 93%.  I did stay up until 1:30 a.m. yesterday, but most days I am getting to bed earlier...Wednesday I went to bed 8 p.m.!  I am managing to keep to my blog updating schedule, which gives me some hope that I might be able to accomplish some other items on my NYR list.    I have however, gone over my allotted time for tonight, so I will leave you saying that all is well in our Land of Coco Cola. Ever onward.
