Peanut Butter and Jelly...

Surprise.
You know I don't know what to say about this photo...except of course the obvious. I know your thinking it too, what a handsome devil Donald is. If Carson grows up to have 1/3 of his fathers good looks, well who knows what might happen.

I noted in a previous posting that the only good thing about going to the Detroit Airport. besides leaving it, was the water fountain. Well I need to add to this. Nancy, Carson and I found the coolest little restaurant at the very end of the C terminal called PBand J. Guess what they sell.

I know you are probably thinking, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches...what is the big deal. Well just think about that for a second. Doesn't that just send you back to being a kid. I remember my Mom making me PBandJs for our school lunch. She always wrapped them in wax paper...this place does that also. I was very impressed with the way my Mom wrapped my sandwiches it was almost a type of origami. To this day I don't think I could wrap a sandwich or anything for that matter in wax papper as well as my Mom. You know it really is funny all the memories that I have of PBandJs. My favorite were the ones that my Grandma made. She made her own bread and her own jelly, I not sure what kind it was, but it was wonderful. As if it couldn't get any better then that I would add a little something something of my own. I would layer the center of my PBandJ with Pringles potato chips, the originals, not one of these weird ass Pringle flavored hybrids, this adding a very pleasant texture contrast and a wonderful crunch. Hum, could this have been my first dabble into the culinary talents of a young Chef Wingate?
Anyway back to the lame ass Detroit Airport. I really recommend trying this place, lord knows there isn't anything else of any interest there. I don't even want to start on the "Tunnel of Tranquility" what a mess.
I suggest the Peanut Butter, Honey, and Bacon on the Cinnamon Bread. Stay away from the Cashew Butter. Believe me if there is a criticism to be had this is it. I would have thought that Cashews would have made an excellent butter. Wrong, they would have been better off using Almonds. Just get the regular Peanut Butter and you will be happy.

Just read this...
I'm certain that they had to post this message because some inbred with an anaphylactic
reaction to nuts didn't realize that Peanut Butter contains Peanuts.
But this is the "Gateway of the Dumb and Dumber" the Detroit Airport what a wonderful place to leave!

Shine ON!
